This historic farmhouse, built in 1900, has been completely renovated for 21st century comfort. Owners, Diana and Joe Simon, offer a lovely two bedroom apartment and two additional guest rooms to travelers visiting the Atlanta area. Guests enjoy the fan-cooled veranda, expansive lawn and gardens. The house is two blocks to the Kensington MARTA rail station providing a quick trip to downtown Atlanta attractions. Nearby City of Decatur has wonderful dining, shopping and entertainment. Breakfast is always fresh fruit and baked goods from the DeKalb Farmers Market.
The apartment has a comfortable living room with gas log fireplace, Sat TV, WiFi, dining/work table and full kitchen with range, microwave, dishwasher, refrigerator, coffeemaker and washer/dryer. Each apartment bedroom has a queen bed and shares a bathroom with tub/shower and lovely hand-painted sink. Kitchen is stocked with breakfast items.
The downstairs guest room has a beautiful rosewood king-sized bed, gas log fireplace, Sat TV, WiFi, and dining/work table. Private bath in hall has a clawfoot tub/shower. A connecting door to the apartment allows this room to combine with the apartment to accommodate families or groups as three bedrooms.
The upstairs guest room has mid-century modern bedroom suite with king-sized bed. The room has a fireplace, dining/work table with bentwood chairs, a wing chair, Sat TV and WiFi. Private bathroom in hall with shower. Guests have access to a private tiled terrace with table and lounge chairs.
Your hosts prepare and serve a continental breakfast in their large kitchen each morning. Two house cats, Connie and Lucky, are in residence.
